The Merging of Commercial and Residential Design

With her Life-Enhancing Minimalism brand, Clodagh is at the forefront of the trend that is blurring the lines between commercial and residential design. Advances in manufacturing technologies, green-goals for sustainability, and taste-trends among developers and homeowners are all opening up the field of products that are appropriate or desirable to specify for commercial and residential projects. Clodagh will illustrate how spas, restaurant kitchens, and hotel guestrooms are all showing up at home, and how the comforts of home are going commercial.

Clodagh has been a constant force in the design world since her beginnings in couture fashion at the age of 17 in her birth country of Ireland. She began her design studio in New York more than twenty-five years ago, passionate in the belief that good design supports well-being and can transform people’s lives. Her groundbreaking work has merited a steady stream of accolades and awards from her peers and the press. From her NoHo studio Clodagh oversees two distinct businesses: Clodagh Design, her interior design and architectural practice; and Clodagh Signature, her product design studio. An in-demand inspirational speaker, Clodagh completed her second book, Your Home Your Sanctuary, which was released by Rizzoli in October 2008.
