Here's a sneak preview of the Headliners: Thorsten Bosch, co-organizer of Pecha Kucha, architect and graphic designer of visualizedconcepts in Chicago • Stephen Copeland, a freelance designer since 1989 and founder of Copeland Studios based in Merion, Pennsylvania • Cheryl Duvall, an interior designer, organization development practitioner, artist and founder of Avance, LLC, a consulting firm in Ellicott City, Md. • Peter Exley, moderator of Pecha Kucha, architect and co-founder of the nationally recognized practice, architectureisfun in Chicago • David London, a magician, an artist, and a human being--the three of which he believes are interchangeable. Living in Washington DC, his work pulls from a variety of mediums, and explores the subjects of dreams, illusion, reality, and everywhere in between. • Dennis Shah, co-founder and president of Studio Printworks in Hoboken, NJ, a wallpaper company unique in that the collection was inspired by modernist styles and included up and coming artists • Matt Wellin, professional sound engineer is the Director of Technical Operations for AV Chicago Inc. You won’t want to miss this entertaining experience. • Peter Nissen of Gotham Studios is an Emmy-winning television producer for National Geographic, as well as a digital content innovator. He is currently developing "GeoRadio", a GPS-triggered audio application for iPhones and other devices, that tells you stories about the places you pass. He wil present: Georadio. During Pecha Kucha, a cash bar and food service will be available for attendees to order and enjoy throughout the evening. 2009 Baltimore Architecture Week |
From New York to Shanghai, Pecha Kucha night is the hottest phenomenon where creative minds come together for an evening of lightning-fast presentations, networking and fun. Pronounced peh-chak-ka-cha, this unique event was featured at NeoCon World’s Trade Fair 2009 and for the first time ever, will be held in Baltimore at NeoCon East. Attendees are invited to hear and see, artistic individuals present a slideshow of 20 images shown for 20 seconds to reveal their work and inspirations. Conceived in Japan in 2003 and replicated in more than 160 cities worldwide. Pecha Kucha Night at NeoCon East is organized by architect, Peter Exley, FAIA, who is host and moderator of this Pecha Kucha event.
Various exhibitors will kick into party-mode in this end-of-day celebration. Breeze the show floor while visiting your favorite manufacturers and enjoy delicious cocktails and appetizers in select exhibit booths.
